Transfer deadline day was another hectic one. The night before all the big rumors were around a Falcao loan deal to either Manchester City, Real Madrid or Arsenal. When many awoke, they found out Falcao was set to join the struggling Manchester United on a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season. As the day went on the deal was all but done. As Manchester United was set to bring Falcao, they had to offload their excess strikers. At ten in the morning, Javier Hernandez joined Spanish giants, Real Madrid on a season long loan. United also had to get rid of their young striker Danny Welbeck. It looked as though he was set to join Tottenham, but suddenly Arsenal hijacked the transfer and he joined the gunners at the eleventh hour for a fee of 16 million pounds.
United were still busy, and the imminent arrival go the Dutch left back Daley Blind happened. He joined united from Ajax for a undisclosed fee. United we're not done yet as they sold Japanese super star Shinji Kagawa to Dortmund for 12 million pounds after a dreadful two years at Old Trafford.
United's cross town rivals, Manchester City, sold two of their players. Micah Richards went to Fiorentina and Alvaro Negredo was sent to Valencia on a loan.
Meanwhile Chelsea had signed French striker, Loic Remy, on a four year deal. This meant that Fernando Torres and Marco van Ginkel were sent to Milan on loan. This was a very strange deadline day due to all the loan deals but it was by no means a bad one.
